Do you have an inspirational vision for the Quality of Education, underpinned by a clear set of values in line with the teachings of the Anglican Church?

Are you passionate about using cognitive theory and instructional coaching to build a CPD programme that promotes high-quality teaching and learning to allow every member of a school community to transform?

Are you innovative with the way you use multiple forms of data to ensure no student is left behind?

Do you have the experience, skills, and determination to lead this ambitious school from good to outstanding, alongside an inspirational and values driven Senior Leadership Team and talented body of staff?

If you can answer yes to these five questions, we would love to hear from you!

Over the past decade, St Mark’s has been transformed from a failing school in Special Measures to a highly successful and continually improving school, which has been graded as good in two successive Ofsted inspections (2012 and 2017) and has many outstanding features. Behaviour and attitudes, the achievement of disadvantaged groups of students, the focus on quality first teaching and the professional development opportunities provided for staff are exemplary and the values of Love, Hope and Trust permeate every aspect of school life.

An Assistant Vice Principal needs to be able to see the fine detail that will allow the Academy to celebrate an Ofsted Outstanding judgement in all areas by 2023. There could not be a more exciting time to take on such a role and play a part in transforming further the lives of the community served by the school. Teaching and learning here is exceptional and supported by an award winning CPD programme. Staff use cutting edge research into cognitive science to teach responsively and coach each other weekly through our instructional coaching model. The candidate taking on this role will need to have the skills to be able to strategically lead these systems to ensure that students are receiving a world class provision in every classroom.

Outcomes at the Academy have been in the top 20% of all schools nationally for progress for the past four years at GCSE level. Outcomes are well above the national average for Applied General subjects at Key Stage 5 and students studying A Levels achieve in line with similar students nationally. 80% of students go onto study at university each year. The successful candidate St Mark’s Church of England Academy is part of Anthem Schools Trust, a multi-academy trust serving over 8,000 children and young people in 16 schools across the East Midlands, London and the Thames Valley.
