Oakbank School

Principal of Oakbank School

Competitive
Full time
01/09/19
Closes: 25/02/19

Do you have the highest expectations for every member of the school community?

Are you able to win hearts and minds with your inspirational vision for school improvement?

Are you passionate about high-quality teaching and learning?

Do you have the experience, skills, insights and determination to lead this school from good to outstanding?

Are you a values-driven leader who models integrity and a commitment to inclusion?

If you can answer yes to these five questions, we would love to hear from you.

We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead Oakbank School, following the promotion of the current Principal to the headship of a larger school.

Over the past six years, Oakbank School has been transformed into a popular, over-subscribed school of choice, which was graded as Good by Ofsted in 2016 and achieved a Progress 8 score in Summer 2018 above the national average. The school has high aspirations and is on the journey to Outstanding.

As a relatively small school, Oakbank is a close-knit community where the wellbeing of students and staff is of the utmost importance. The new Principal will have the opportunity to lead a school where, according to Ofsted, 'relationships between leaders, staff and pupils are very positive and there is a warmth and generosity of spirit which shines through'.

We are looking to appoint a Principal with a proven track record at either Principal or Deputy Principal level. As a senior leader in our multi-academy trust, the post-holder would be expected to embrace CST’s collaborative ethos and work closely with other schools across the Trust. In addition to a competitive salary, we provide high-quality leadership coaching and professional development and the opportunity to play a key role in a rapidly improving and ambitious multi-academy trust. We would also consider a relocation package for the right candidate.

Prospective applicants are welcome to visit the school and meet the Education Director on Tuesday, 12 February, Wednesday, 13 February or Friday, 15 February. To make an appointment or for further information and an application pack for this role, please contact Lucy Brown, Executive Assistant at lbrown@cfbt.com or 0118 902 1637.

If you would like to discuss the role in further detail, please contact Colin Sinclair, Education Director, at csinclair@cfbt.com or 07990 002791.

Closing date for applications: 10am on Monday, 25 February 2019

Interviews being held on: Monday, 4 and Tuesday, 5 March 2019

Oakbank School and CfBT Schools Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants must undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
