Anthem appoints Derek Hills as COO

Derek is currently Director of IT, Data and Systems at Ark multi-academy trust. He has been working in education since 2009, after roles in data analytics within financial services.

Prior to Ark, Derek was the Head of Data and Management Information Systems at the Harris Federation, and Director of Data Strategy and Performance at the David Ross Education Trust. He is deeply passionate about education and the impact that education has on social mobility and breaking the cycle of disadvantage and poverty.

Commenting on his appointment, Derek said:

“I am thrilled and honoured to be joining Anthem Schools Trust as their new Chief Operating Officer this March, a role I look forward to with great anticipation.

“It has been a privilege to both lead and to be a part of the IT, Systems and Data team at Ark Schools, a team of thoroughly talented and dedicated people.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to work with CEO Mohsen Ojja and the wider National Team at Anthem, supporting schools to deliver a world class education for every student, every lesson, all the time.”

In his first few weeks at Anthem, Derek will work alongside current COO Sheila McKenzie to ensure a smooth transition when Sheila retires at the end of March. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Derek on his appointment, and we look forward to welcoming him to Anthem.
